TOLLAND COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Vanessa Rivero, of Willimantic, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday morning vehicle crash in Tolland County.
Rivero, 39, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Mansfield Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Rivero was operating a Volkswagen Jetta on Route 32 in Mansfield, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a GMC Sierra pickup.
The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Rivero was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
