CEDAR COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Clay Wheeler, of Quincy, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday fatal vehicle crash in Cedar County.
Wheeler, 55, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Cedar Springs early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Wheeler was operating a Ford F-150 pickup truck on Highway 54 near Cedar Springs, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came into contact with a fence and a tree before rolling over.
Wheeler, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
