MO Woman Charged With Murder After Shootout With Men Who Stole Her Car

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Demesha Coleman, of Spanish Lake, Missouri, has been identified as the woman arrested after she was involved in a gun battle with three men in possession of her stolen vehicle in St. Louis County on Wednesday.

Coleman, 35, whose Hyundai Tucson SUV was allegedly stolen, is accused of tracking down the suspected thieves to a gas station on Wednesday. During a confrontation, two men, Darius Jackson, 19, and Joseph Farrar, 49, were fatally shot and another unidentified man was critically wounded.

Coleman was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree assault, according to St. Louis County online court records.

It was not immediately clear which of the three men – or if all of them – were involved in stealing Coleman’s vehicle.

According to reports, Coleman was spotted on surveillance footage approaching her vehicle at a gas station parking lot. She was accompanied by an unidentified man.

At some point during the confrontation, a shootout occurred.

Coleman allegedly told detectives during a recorded interview that she went to the gas station to take her stolen car back, then identified herself on the footage, according to court documents.

Coleman is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, according to online court documents.
