WAYNE COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Steven Carl Catteau Sr., of Burbank, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a Friday fatal vehicle crash in Wayne County.
Catteau, 49, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Congress Township Friday evening.
According to reports, Catteau was operating a Chevrolet Impala on Pleasant Home Road near Wohlgamuth Road in West Salem, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes Friday around 5 p.m. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Ford F-350 pickup truck.
Catteau was being transported to an area hospital when he was pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
The driver of the Ford was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
