RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Rosa Martinez, of Moreno Valley, California, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a speeding vehicle in Riverside County Saturday night.
Martinez, 18, was killed Saturday night in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Perris.
According to reports, a Honda sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on the 21100 block of Nandina Avenue around 6 p.m. Saturday, when the vehicle came into contact with Martinez, who was on-foot. The Honda then rolled over.
Martinez was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The Honda driver was transported to an area hospital with serious unknown injuries.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
