CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Thomas Wesley Lee, of Chesnee, South Carolina, has been identified as the teenager killed in a Thursday morning vehicle crash in Cherokee County.
Tommy Lee, 17, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Chesnee Thursday morning.
According to reports, Lee was operating a Honda van on Horse Creek Road in Chesnee, when for still undetermined reasons, the van crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10:45 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then went airborne before coming into contact with a tree and catching fire.
Lee was pronounced dead of blunt force and thermal injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
