DICKINSON COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Joel Hynes, Mary Hynes and John Hynes, all of Junction City, Kansas, have been identified as the three family members killed in a Tuesday afternoon Dickinson County crash.
Joel, 54, Mary, 64, and 78-year-old John, were all killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor near Abilene Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Joel was operating a Dodge Dakota pickup truck on Kansas Highway 15 south of Abilene, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Dodge then exited the roadway, entered a culvert and flipped over before coming to a rest in a field.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
All three family members were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
