GUILFORD COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Sunshine Nichole Williams, of Lexington, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday afternoon fatal vehicle crash in Guilford County.
Williams, 21, was killed in a Saturday two-vehicle High Point crash that also injured Williams’ passenger and the other involved driver, Joshua Nicholas Anderson, 26, of Archale.
According to reports, Anderson was operating a Chevrolet Silverado on US 85 near Baker Road in High Point, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then came into contact with a Toyota Scion operated by Williams around 2:15 p.m. Saturday. The Silverado then flipped over into a guardrail.
A male passenger in Williams’ vehicle was transported to an area local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Anderson was airlifted to an area hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
