WORCESTER COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Richard Banning, of Woodbridge, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday evening fatal motorcycle crash in Worcester County, Virginia.
Banning, 61, was killed in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash that injured his 59-year-old female passenger near Whaleyville Thursday evening.
According to reports, Banning was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 50 near Maryland 610 in Whaleyville, when the bike came into contact with a Nissan Rogue around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Banning was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead Friday of blunt force trauma injuries.
The passenger on the motorcycle was transported for treatment of unknown injuries.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
