OWSLEY COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Tonya Peters, of Ricetown, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday night fatal Polaris RZR crash in Owsley County.
Peters, 47, a beloved Owsley County teacher, was killed in a UTV crash near her Ricetown home on Wednesday.
According to reports, Peters was operating a Polaris RZR at the KY-2024/ Sammy Peters Road junction, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Peters was then ejected from the UTV.
Peters was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
