MARION COUNTY, OR. (THECOUNT) — A Marion County, Oregon homeowner opened fire on a suspected home invader early Sunday morning.
The male homeowner, who has not officially been identified, fatally shot an individual who had allegedly broke into his Keizer home early Sunday morning.
According to reports, Keizer police responded to a call of shots fired at 3222 Mayfield Place North in Keizer around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, the homeowner said he was sleeping when he woke up to find someone inside his house.
The homeowner discharged his weapon at least once fatally striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.
No further information was provided by officials as of Sunday afternoon.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
