EVANGELINE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Lionel Bangs, of Ville Platte, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday vehicle crash in Evangeline Parish.
Bangs, 22, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Ville Platte early Saturday morning. Danielle Clark, of Ville Platte, has been identified as the other involved driver.
According to reports, Clark, 33, of Ville Platte, was operating a Buick LaCrosse on LA 3042 near Theophile Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Nissan Sentra operated by Bangs.
Bangs was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene of the crash.
Clark was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
