ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Mason Paul Rhodes, Carrsville, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Mondy fatal vehicle crash in Isle of Wight County.

Rhoads, 20, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Franklin Monday morning.

According to reports, 24-year-old Jose Ivan Marquex-Lizardi was operating a Chevrolet van on Joyners Bridge Road near Holly Run Drive in Carrsville, when he failed to a stop at a posted stop sign and came into contact with a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Rhoads. The Silverado the rolled over onto Rhoads.

Rhoands, who was partially ejected during the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries.

Marquex-Lizardi was transported to an area hospital after he suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
