WAYNE COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Derick Haak, of Ontario, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday fatal motorcycle crash in Wayne County.

Haak, 38, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Arcadia Sunday night.

According to reports, Haak was operating a motorcycle on Route 88 near Chapel Street in Newark, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Sunday. The bike then entered a culvert. The bike then came into contact with a parked vehicle, a mailbox and tree.

Haak was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the crash.

A second motorcyclist – Mark Fisher, 39, of Sodus, also crashed a short distance from where Haak went down. He was transported to an area hospital with unknwn serious injuries.

It is unknown if the men were riding together.

The cause of both crashes remain under investigation.
