ASHLAND COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Todd Brown, of Galion, Ohio and Steven Kubyako, of Greenwich, Ohio, have been identified as the victims in a Friday double-fatal vehicle crash in Ashland County.

Brown, 35, and 34-year-old Kubyako, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash in Jackson Township Friday afternoon.

According to reports, Brown, Kubyako and another person were traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado on OH-302 in Jackson Township, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 3:45 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Ford F-450 pickup truck. Both vehicles then exited the roadway, entered a culvert and burst into flames.

A female in the Chevy was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Brown and Kubyako were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt trauma and thermal injuries.

The 50-year-old male Ford driver, was treated and released after suffering minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
