MIDLAND COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — James William Featherston, of Oglesby, Texas, has been identified as one of two people killed in a Wednesday morning vehicle crash in Midland County.
JW ‘Bubba’ Featherston, 38, was killed in a two-vehicle crash that also killed a big-rig driver – identified as Jose Alferez Castillo, 55, of Midland.
According to reports, Featherston was operating a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck on Texas 349 near East County Road 140 in Midland, when the vehicle came into contact with a semi-tractor operated by Castillo around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Both vehicles then burst into flames.
Both men were pronounced dead of blunt force and thermal injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
