ROANOKE COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Lois Jean Lester, of Salem, Virginia, has been identified as the victim Wednesday in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian strike in Roanoke County.
“Jeannie” Lester, 66, died after she was struck by a vehicle in Salem Wednesday night.
According to reports, Lester ws on-foot in the 2400 block of Catawba Valley Drive in Salem, when she was struck by a passing Mazda Protégé around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Lester was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The Mazda driver remained on scene and fully cooperated with investigators.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
