CA ‘Transient’ Trent Millsap ID’d As Suspect In Fatal Stabbing Of NASCAR Driver Bobby East

ORANGE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Trent Millsap, 27, of Santa Ana, California, has been identified as the suspect in the fatal stabbing of former NASCAR stock car driver Bobby East in Orange County Tuesday.

East, 37, a three-time USAC National Champion driver in USAC Silver Crown and Midgets, was killed after he was stabbed at a Westminster 76 gas station on Tuesday.

According to the Westminster Police Department, West was at the gas station, located at 6322 Westminster Blvd. in Westminster, when he was stabbed in the chest for unknown reasons.

Police officers attempted life saving measures until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local trauma center, where the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Millsap, 27, believed to be a transient, was named by police as a suspect in the attack. Mislay, who fled the area before police arrived, was described by WPD as a known transient who has an outstanding parole warrant. He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. A motive for the attack remains unknown, reports racer.

In his career, East totaled 22 USAC National Midget feature wins, the majority of which came for the series’ winningest team owner, Steve Lewis, and his legendary “Nine Cars.”
