CLINTON COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Heather Christman Cole, of Wilmington, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night fatal vehicle collision in Clinton County.
Cole, 27, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor Friday night in Chester Township.
According to reports, Cole was operating a Ford Focus on OH-380 near Katys Lane, in Wilmington, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 7:45 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Freightliner big-rig, operated by Jeffrey Thompson, 51, of Urbana. Both vehicles then exited the roadway.
Cole was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Thompson was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
