Decades-Long Bismarck ND Favorite ‘The Wood House’ Restaurant Shutters Abruptly

BISMARCK, ND. (THECOUNT) — The Wood House, a long-time Bismarck, North Dakota restaurant, has suddenly closed its doors forever.

The eatery, which had been receiving bad customer reviews over the past few years for its changing menu and rude staff members, has closed permanently, according to a sign placed in the window.

The Wood House, formerly “King’s Food Host,” located at 1825 N 13th St in Bismarck, had been a favorite stop for American style eats for decades with it’s nostalgic booths complete with phones to place your order.

The sign on the door says refunds for gift cards can be made by contacting management.

A reason for the shuttering was not provided.

The restaurant’s website was also found no longer active.

We take great pride in the daily grinding of our own USDA choice grade beef, the hand breading of our chicken, and the many other homemade items. Some may call our old school, no gimmicks style of good service and top-notch food a “throwback”, but we take that as a compliment.
