NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — William Friend has been identified as the man killed last weekend after reportedly being struck by lightning in New Hanover County, North Carolina.
Friend, 33, the husband of “One Tree Hill” star, Bevin Prince, and CEO of digital media company “Bisnow,” died in a lightning strike near Masonboro Island.

Friend was near Masonboro Island in North Carolina over the weekend after he was hit by a lightning strike. Arriving deputies performed CPR on Friend for 20 minutes, but the life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
Friend was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bevin and William married in 2016, the pair owned a fitness business in North Carolina.
Bevin was a regular on “One Tree Hill.”
