CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Alexander Jennings, of Grand Island, New York, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Tuesday hit-and-run vehicle collision in Charleston County, South Carolina.

“Alex” Jennings, 22, was killed after he was fatally struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in Charleston.

According to reports, jennings was on-foot in the area of Old Sol Legare Road near Folly Road in Charleston, when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene early Tuesday morning. He was then struck by a second vehicle that also left the scene.

The second vehicle was later located during a traffic stop.

No charges have been filed as police seek the driver of the first involved vehicle.

Jennings was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

No description of the vehicle that fled the scene was made available.
