DARKE COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Mackenzie Smith, of Troy, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night fatal motorcycle crash in Darke County.
Smith, 23, was killed, and 31-year-old William Moore of Casstown, was injured, in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Covington late Saturday night.
According to reports, Moore was operating a motorcycle on the 6500 block of Route 36 near Covington, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11:50 p.m. Saturday. The bike then entered a culvert and ejected the couple.
Moore was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
