MUSIC WORLD. (THECOUNT) — Billy Corgan has announced the passing of his father William Corgan Sr.
According to the singer, Corgan Sr., 74, suffered a heart attack while at his residence on Friday.
According to officials, First Responders were dispatched to reports of an unresponsive man. When they arrived, a male was found dead, without vital signs. At that point, medical aid was provided. Miraculously, EMS members were able to bring Corgan Sr. back to life. Sadly, he later died while being transported via helicopter to an area hospital.
The cause of death reportedly Cardiac Arrest.
Corgan shared a tribute to his father on social media:
“My father had his own struggles with music and had a very complicated and oftentimes bitter relationship with the music business. He assumed that I would have the same. It all started with him, watching him play in basements and at soundchecks and empty stinking bars.”
