ONONDAGA COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Allison Lakie, of Syracuse, New York, has been identified as the victim in a fatal police shooting in Onondaga County on Wednesday.

Lakie, 33, was fatally shot by Syracuse police early Wednesday morning.

According to reports, Lackie was shot by Syracuse police early Wednesday morning outside a home at 216 Ulster St. in Syracuse around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say, Lakie set a kitchen fire and charged officers with the knife shortly before the fatal shooting.

Lakie was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

It remains unclear how many officers fired their weapons, how many times the woman was shot, when the woman was shot, where the shooting occurred and how much damage was left by the fire. No details have been released on the nature of the original call or what happened for the hours between the call and the woman’s death, reports syracuse.

The Syracuse Fire Department also refused to release any information about the fire.

Some news outlets identified the victim as “Allison Lackie.”
