ERIE COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Daniel Giovino, of Clarence, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday afternoon fatal vehicle crash in Erie County.
Giovino, 23, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Newstead Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Giovino was operating a vehicle on Sand Hill Road in Akron, Newstead, When for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 3 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
The vehicle then burst into flames.
Giovino was pronounced dead at the scene of thermal and blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
