ORANGE COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Dr. John Hordines Jr., of New Windsor, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday fatal hit-and-run vehicle crash in Orange County.

Hordines, 54, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Cornwall early Sunday.

According to reports, Hordines was operating Chevrolet Tahoe on Route 32 in Cornwall, when the vehicle came into head-on contact with a Honda Accord around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Hordines was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Hordines served as a vascular surgeon with Crystal Run Healthcare and was affiliated with the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

No further details of the crash were provided by officials.
