UNION COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Damon Hughes, of Hillside, New Jersey, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday shooting in Union County.
Hughes, 32, was fatally shot near Hillside early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, police respond to a call of shots fired at 147 Clark St in Hillside, around 1 a.m. When they arrived, Hughes was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Hughes was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
In 2009, Hughes, then 20, was arrested in the killing of 28-year-old Quendell Williams.
