BIBB COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Anthony Burke, of Macon, Georgia, has been identified as the man fatally shot during an argument Saturday morning in Bibb County.

Burke was shot to death while at his ex-girlfriend’s house early Saturday morning in Macon.

According to reports, Burke forced his way into the Dawn Street home of his ex-girlfriend by kicking open a door and busting a window. At some point during an ensuing argument, the ex-girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend became involved and Burke was shot during a struggle over a gun around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Burke was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says Burke had active warrants out for battery and criminal damages to property from previous incidents with his girlfriend.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The incident is still under investigation.
