MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Charissa Rae Coleman, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been identified as the innocent victim killed in an apparent street racing crash Sunday night in Maricopa County.

Coleman, 28, was killed in a crash that was likely a street racing related incident Sunday night.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, a Chevrolet Camaro and an Infiniti Q50 were “side-by-side,” while traveling at a high rate of speed on West Indian School Road near North 91st Avenue in Phoenix, when the Infiniti made contact with a Jeep Patriot, operated by Coleman.

Coleman was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

An unidentified 34-year-old man operating the Infiniti was transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say, the hospitalized Infiniti driver will be booked into jail upon discharge for manslaughter.

The race-involved black Camaro fled the scene following the crash.

Police ask anyone with possible information on driver of the black Camaro to call Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS or (480) TESTIGO.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
