CANYON COUNTY, ID. (THECOUNT) — Derek Maxwell has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Monday night in Canyon County.
Maxwell, 23, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near Caldwell that then fled the scene Monday night.
According to reports, Maxwell was on-foot in the area of South Montana Avenue near Helena Drive, when he was struck by a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The vehicle could possibly be a dark blue or black mid-2000s Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition.
