CAMERON COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Guests lodging at a Cameron County, Texas, hotel say staff members abandon the establishment without notifying them Tuesday.
Visitors at the Lighthouse Inn in South Padre Island, were left without water, electricity and food as widespread outages plague much of the area.
The customers said they are stranded in the business without transportation.
The Lighthouse Inn is located on Padre Boulevard in South Padre Island.
“There’s no staff…the staff abandoned us,” said Illinois resident Stephany Philips.
The guests visited South Padre Island from Illinois to escape the cold, only to find themselves in a terrible situation, reports ValleyCentral.
“I can’t find anyone to answer the phones anywhere,” said Philips and friend Marsha Kessel. “We are in bed trying to stay warm with two to three layers of clothes on.”
Calls placed to multiple hotels in the area including the Lighthouse Inn did not answer.
