ELKHART COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Jeanette Lynn Yoder, of Goshen, Indiana, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a ADEC van Wednesday morning in Elkhart County.
Yoder, 44, was killed after she was struck by an ADEC van in Goshen Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Yoder was waiting for the ADEC shuttle in the area of Ashton Pines on Balsam Fir Lane in Goshen, when she was fatally struck by the van, operated by Kara Toland of Elkhart, around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Police say, the van was attempting to move on the sidewalk to get closer to Yoder, when the vehicle “caught traction and lurched forward.” After striking Yoder, the van continued until it collided with a building.
Yoder, who became trapped under the van, died at the scene.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
