BELMONT COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Stewart, of Clarington, Ohio, and Cody Mundy, of Beallsville, Ohio, have been identified as the victims in a Wednesday double-fatal in Belmont County.
Stewart, 23, and 25-year-old Mundy, were both killed in a single-vehicle crash near Beallsville Wednesday night.
According to reports, Dustin Shriver, 25, of Beallsville, was operating a Ford Escape on State Route 145 near Beallsville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then came into contact with several trees.
Passengers, Stewart and Mundy, were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Shriver was transported to an area hospital with serious unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
