COOK COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Barbara Phillips has been identified as the victim in a Monday murder-suicide at the USP facility in Cook County, Illinois. Fabian Young has been identified as the deceased shooter.

Phillips, 30, was shot dead by 27-year-old Young who then turned the weapon on himself Monday near Hodgkins.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at the UPS sorting facility, located at 1 UPS Way in Hodgkins, Monday around 1 p.m. When they arrived, two individuals were found in a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

Both Phillips and Young were pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries. A semi-automatic handgun was also recovered near their bodies.

Phillips was a UPS employee, police said.

“We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred this afternoon, and we are cooperating with the responding authorities,” a UPS spokesman said in a statement.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
