MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Jessica Lynn Lightner has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck Saturday in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Lightner, 33, was killed in a hit-and-run collision near Phoenix early Saturday morning.
According to reports, 35-year-old Sergio Nareja was operating a Nissan pickup truck near North 30th Place and East Oak Street in Phoenix, when he struck Lightner, who was on-foot early Saturday morning. Nareja then fled the scene.
Lightner, originally from Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Nareja later turned himself in to police. He was booked on a count of leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
