LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Brock Johnson, of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night fatal house fire in Lafayette Parish.
Johnson, 20, was killed in a structure fire in Lafayette Thursday night.
According to reports, firefighters responded to a call of a house fire in the 200 block of St Benjamin Dr in Lafayette around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to family members, they were home at the time the fire broke out. Johnson was in his bedroom when they heard a loud boom.
As they went to investigate the source of the loud sound, they found Johnson’s bedroom fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters later found the body of Johnson in the bedroom.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
