HASKELL COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Johnnie Coates, of Holcomb, Kansas, has been identified as the teenage victim in a Wednesday night fatal vehicle crash in Haskell County, Kansas.
Coates, 18, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Satanta Wednesday night.
According to reports, Coates was operating a Ford Taurus on County Road FF near US-160, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over.
Coates was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
