ONONDAGA COUNTY, NH. (THECOUNT) — Trevor Pierce, of Jaffrey, New Hampshire, has been identified as the student in a fatal Tuesday night skateboarding accident involving a Syracuse University campus trolly in Onondaga County, New York.

Pierce, 18, was killed while riding a skateboard after being struck by a campus trolly Tuesday night.

According to reports, Pierce was riding a skateboard when he came into contact with a trolly near Waverly Avenue and Comstock Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

Pierce was transported to Upstate Medical University where he was later pronounced dead.

Pierce, a graduate of Conant High School, was a Syracuse University freshman student studying political philosophy.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.

Syracuse University released a statement, saying in part:

“This is an unthinkable loss for Trevor’s family, friends and loved ones and the entire Syracuse University community. We send our support, thoughts and prayers to everyone grieving and impacted by Trevor’s death.”
