HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — At least three people have been killed after a building under construction partially collapsed in west Houston Monday afternoon.

The collapse resulted in at least three people being killed just after 1:30 p.m. Monday, fire officials said Monday afternoon.

According to HFD, the partial collapse is in the area of Town & Country Boulevard near the I-10 Katy Freeway.

Initial information indicated injuries from the incident, but the assistant fire chief said there were fatalities. It’s not known if those who died were construction employees.

The incident is around the area of the City Centre shopping district, which is not too far from the I-10/Beltway 8 interchange.
