PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Larry Thomas Downey, of Oxford, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Monday night fatal Prince George’s County vehicle strike.
Downey, 59, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near South Laurel Monday night.
According to reports, Downey was on-foot in the area of U.S. 1 near Cypress Street in South Laurel, when he was struck by a Hyundai Santa operated by 26-year-old Jason Iloh of Laurel around 9 p.m. Monday.
Downey was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries while being transported to an area hospital.
It is unclear if anyone was cited at the scene.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
