MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — 8 people were shot, two of those dead, during a shooting overnight in Middlesex County, New Jersey.
The New Brunswick Police Department says the mass casualty event occurred Sunday at dwelling in New Brunswick.
Officials say, officers arrived to a call of shots fired at 32 Delafield Street in New Brunswick, around 1:20 a.m. Sunday.
Police determined that one or more suspect opened fire striking multiple individuals at the home.
The injured were rushed to several area hospitals where at least were pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor reported that two of the 8 victims died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Police had no information on possible suspects but say the shooting had no affiliation with nearby Rutgers University or its students.
The New Brunswick Police Department asked that anyone with information to call the NBPD’s Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
