MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Cameron Cook, of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Mecklenburg County.
Cook, 22, was killed in a hit-and-run vehicle strike near Charlotte Sunday morning.
According to reports, Cook was on-foot in the area of East Independence Expressway and Pecan Avenue, when he was struck by a passing vehicle that then fled the scene around 3:40 a.m. Sunday.
Cook was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police at 911.
The investigation into the cause of the incident remains open and active.
