LITCHFIELD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Sean Francis Ryan Sr, of Watertown, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday afternoon fatal multi-vehicle crash in Litchfield County.
Ryan, 46, was killed in a vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver near Torrington Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, Ryan was operating a vehicle on New Litchfield Street near Hassig Road in Torrington, when the vehicle came into head-on contact with an Audi A4 traveling the wrong-way around 2 p.m. Thursday.
An unidentified female passenger occupying Ryan’s car was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
It is unclear if the occupants of the third involved vehicle suffered any injuries.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene of the crash on foot and was later apprehended. The identity of that driver was not provided by officials.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
