HIDALGO COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Marco Antonio Sigala Jr has been identified as the suspect in a Monday shooting incident at a Hidalgo County, Texas, Walmart Supercenter.

Sigala, 27, was shot dead by police after displaying a weapon Monday at the Walmart Supercenter in Weslaco around 3 p.m. Monday.

The store is located at, 1310 Texas Blvd N in Weslaco, Texas.

The suspect entered the store while toting a rifle and at last one handgun and wearing all black. He then proceeded to the back of the store where he encountered police.

Police ordered the suspect to drop the rifle, and he complied. But then brandished a handgun and opened fire.

The officers returned fire, fatally wounding Sigala.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
