RIPLEY COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Austin Evans, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Sunday night in Ripley County.
Evans, 30, was killed in a single-vehicle ejection crash near the Ozarks Sunday night.
According to reports, Evans was operating a Chevy Cobalt on Highway 21 near Route NN, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then made contact with an embankment and rolled over.
Evans, who was ejected during the crash, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
