TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Jay Acosta Jr, of Kentwood, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night fatal motorcycle crash in Tangipahoa Parish.
Acosta, 34, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Independence Monday night.
According to reports, Acosta was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on LA-1054 near Louisiana 40 in Independence, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:30 p.m. Monday. The bike then entered a culvert ejecting the rider.
Acosta was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
