PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Beau Jared Barker of Ada, Oklahoma, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Monday vehicle strike in Pontotoc County.
Barker, 30, was killed after struck by a hit-and-run vehicle early monday near Oklahoma City.
According to reports, Barker was on-foot in the area of Interstate 240 in Oklahoma city, when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that then fled the scene around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
Barker, who was originally from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
No vehicle description was provided by authorities as of Tuesday morning.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
