HILO, HI. (THECOUNT) — Jonathan Ed Hisaichi Hara, of Hilo, Hawaii, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday morning vehicle crash on Big Island.

Hara, 34, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Mountain View on Saturday morning.

According to reports, Hara was operating a vehicle on Highway 11 near Glenwood Recycling & Transfer Station, when the vehicle came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by a 60-year-old Pahala man around 6:45 a.m. Saturday.

Hara was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The Pahala man and his two passengers were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
