MARION COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Matthew Elliott Dildine and Melissa L. Dingess, both of Columbus County, Ohio, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal vehicle crash in Marion County Thursday evening.
Dildine, 42, and 26-year-old Dingess, were both killed Thursday evening in a single-vehicle crash near pleasant Township.
According to reports, Dildine and Dingess were traveling in a vehicle on US-23 in Pleasant Township, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 4 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree and rolled over into a culvert.
Dildine was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Dingess was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver was transported with unknown non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
